The magazine EARTH has an article about Prof. Fegley and Laura Schaefer’s work on the exoplanet CoRoT-7b in it’s January 2010 issue. The article is titled “Today’s Forecast: Quartz with a Chance of Feldspar” and is available both online and in the print issue.

The article highlights calculations performed by Laura Schaefer and Bruce Fegley, which were described in a paper published in the Astrophysical Journal Letters.  The article, written by Sakari Nummila, is available here.

Two papers on chondritic meteorites 2009

Two papers by Laura Schaefer and Prof. Fegley have been accepted for publication. The paper Chemistry of Silicate Atmospheres of Evaporating Super-Earths will appear in the Astrophysical Journal Letters. The paper Volatile Element Chemistry during Metamorphism of Ordinary Chondritic Material and Some of its Implications for the Composition of Asteroids will appear in Icarus. Preprints are available by clicking the links or on our Reprint page.
